# 0. Welcome

**Hero Arena Play** is a decentralized turn-based strategy game where players choose a faction and wage war in PvP and PvE battles. Every decision changes the course of the battle. Hero Arena Play is a real game with real strategic depth — not an idle clicker, not an AFK farm, not a collector simulator.

The design is intentionally simple to learn but hard to master, in the spirit of chess. Each player commands a deck composed of units, equipment, and spells, and each faction plays differently. Will you stand with the disciplined Humans, the cunning Dark Elves, the steadfast Dwarves, the savage Orcs, or the mechanized forces of TF2?

### What Hero Arena Play Offers <a href="#what-hero-arena-offers" id="what-hero-arena-offers"></a>

**A real game first.** Hero Arena Play is built around competitive gameplay. Web3 elements support the experience; they don't replace it. Players who never touch a wallet can still enjoy the full tutorial and core PvP/PvE loop.

**Trustless peer-to-peer wagers.** Players can stake $HAP or BNB on their own match outcomes. Smart contracts hold the pot, the winner is paid automatically the moment the match ends, and no platform middleman ever holds player funds. This is the feature that genuinely justifies why Hero Arena Play lives on chain.

**True asset ownership.** Avatars, BattleFields, Weapons, and Armors are NFTs that belong to the player, not to a centralized server. They can be traded peer-to-peer on the in-game Marketplace.

**Skill-based rewards.** $HAP rewards are tied to verifiable on-chain match outcomes, ranking, and progression — not to passive holding. Players earn by playing well.

**Low fees.** Hero Arena will deploy on **BNB Chain** for mainnet, where transaction costs are a fraction of those on Ethereum L1.

Hero Arena Play is **live on BSC testnet** at [hero-arena.com](https://hero-arena.com/). The following are playable today:

* **Tutorial** — wallet-free onboarding for new players
* **PvE: Meet The Council** — the first Challenges campaign
* **PvP** — ranked and unranked turn-based matches
* **Marketplace** — peer-to-peer trading of in-game NFT assets
* **Council faction** — the first of five factions, fully released

5. Pick the **Council** faction and enter your first match
